Mikala has been teaching Yoga since 2014 when she trained in Vinyasa Yoga with Being Yoga from the Sunshine Coast, Australia.

Further study led Mikala to India where she trained at Kaivalyadama Ashram and Yoga University and learnt traditional Yogic practices including Asana, Pranayama, Kriya and Yogic philosophy. In 2017 and 2019 Mikala led Yoga Retreats in Northern India with her friend and mentor Jyoti Anand, taking two groups of Australian women to experience the deep roots of Yoga.

Ongoing training and learning includes; Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Women’s Yoga/Womb Yoga,  Core Strength Vinyasa, Womb Awakening, Feminine Embodiment Arts and Herbalism.

Over the last 8 years Mikala has taught classes, workshops, retreats and run a small Yoga studio in her home town of Yeppoon. She now lives in the forests of the Border Ranges on Gullibul land and tends the land, her garden, relationship, community and self with playfulness and respect.

The Womens Wisdom Way a practice of coming home to oneself, the earth and the greater weaving of the world. It is a thread that has been woven and passed down throughout the generations. Mikala is remembering this path and invites you to do the same.
